Service Intervals

We are pleased to offer you a choice on how your vehicle is serviced. You can either choose Time and Distance Servicing or LongLife Servicing and the appropriate selection is entirely dependent on how the car is likely to be driven and its general use. The following guide will help you understand what option would be best for you.

The Time and Distance Service is recommended for vehicles that will cover less than 10,000* miles in 12 months and if your vehicle is likely to be used in the following way;

  • Predominantly city centre driving, short journeys with frequent cold starts.
  • Activities regularly producing high engine loading, e.g. frequent hill climbs, driving with vehicle fully loaded and towing.
  • Uneconomical driving style using high rpm’s with heavy acceleration and heavy braking.

The LongLife Service is recommended for vehicles with daily mileage of more than 25 miles where your vehicle is driven regularly and on mainly longer distance journeys. The vehicle will be mainly driven at a constant speed with minimum vehicle and engine loading, minimal towing and driven in an economical manner.

Service intervals For Volkswagen vehicles manufactured from 1st August 2005

The Golf hatch, Golf Plus, Touran, Touareg, Phaeton and New Passat will all be governed by the following new service intervals.

For Time and Distance Service, the service intervals will be;

  • Oil change service - Every 10,000 * miles/1 year
  • Interval service - Every 20,000 * miles/2 years
  • Interval service inspection - Every 40,000 * miles/4 years

Service intervals For Volkswagen vehicles manufactured before 1st August 2005

For LongLife Service, the service intervals will be;

  • Interval service - Flexible to a maximum of 20,000* miles or 2 years
  • Interval service inspection - Every 40,000* miles or 4 years.

The Beetle, Beetle Cabriolet, Bora, Golf Estate, Passat and Sharan will be governed by the following service intervals.

For Time and Distance Service, the service intervals will be;

  • Oil change service - Every 10,000 * miles/1 year
  • Inspection service - Every 20,000 * miles/2 years

For LongLife Service, the service intervals will be;

  • Inspection service - Flexible to a maximum of 20,000 * miles/2 years for petrol
  • nspection service - Flexible to a maximum of 30,000* miles/2 years for diesel

The Polo and Lupo will be governed by the following service intervals.

For Time and Distance Service, the service intervals will be;

  • Oil change service - Every 10,000 * miles/1 year
  • Inspection service - Every 20,000 * miles/2 years

For LongLife Service, the service intervals for Polo will be;

  • Inspection service - Flexible to a maximum of 20,000 * miles/2 years for petrol and diesel

(LongLife Servicing is not available on Lupo).

Service intervals - Approved Used vehicles

*Please note that all mileages are approximate as the service indicator system uses kilometres as the distance measurement.

MOT

If your Volkswagen is 3 years or older it requires an annual MOT, so it makes sense to ask us to take care of this, perhaps at the same time as your service? Then, should any work need to be done, you will already be in the best possible hands.
